CLASS ROOM PROCEDURE (Constructivist classroom)

Introductory activity or a device (example, instance, incident, anecdote, exhibit, situation, simple experiment) to create disequilibrium.

  • Teacher gives general instructions about the activity to be performed and  gives the strategy of learning.  (The task to be performed in the group should be clearly stated.)
  • Grouping with minimum dislocation.
  • Group-specific instructions to be given through slips or any other appropriate device.
  • Pupils do the prescribed activity & Teacher does scaffolding.
  • Consolidation of the activity using appropriate device (Showing a chart of conclusions/ asking thought provoking questions/ presentation of reports by groups etc……)
